A Context Sensitive Solutions Project

2nd Public Meeting (Open House)

The study’s second public meeting was held on August 20, 2009. Its purpose was to present the status of the study and to provide an opportunity for discussion between the IDOT Study Team, the Community Advisory Group (CAG), and interested members of the community. The focus of the meeting was 20 initial draft corridor locations that were developed in conjunction with the CAG in May 2009.

The meeting took place between the hours of 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM and was held using an informal, open house format. It was attended by more than 800 individuals.

The attendees were invited to view a brief, continually-running audio-visual presentation, which provided background information and an orientation to the materials on display at the meeting. Attendees then studied the display materials, asked questions of the IDOT representatives at the meeting, and submitted written comments about the study and the meeting materials.

On display were: informational graphics about the study process, maps and aerial photos showing the initial draft corridors, and charts showing the initial evaluation of those corridors.

Smaller versions of these materials are available for downloading below.
